My January/February Playlist

According to my iTunes, I have downloaded 137 new songs since the start of 2014! I got a new 80gig iPod (woah, how huge is that!) because my dad had two like that so gave me one, so I can finally fit as much music as I like on my iPod, cause my old 4gig one had absolutely no more space. So after my downloading frenzy, I have come out with some pretty great music that I wanted to share with you. Its not all (if any) recent/current music. A lot of the tracks are really old or from a few years ago, but they're just ones that I either used to love and have finally found, or completely new ones. Also, be aware, this is just a massive mix of genres, etc. Enjoy...

1) Love Me Again- John Newman
Not that many people even knew of John Newman about 6 months ago and now he's got loads of amazing songs all over and on the radio, etc. This is one of my favourite songs! It's just very upbeat and makes me happy.

2) Hall of Fame- The Script ft. will.i.am
I used to love this song, and completely forgot about it, I'm so glad I found it again!

3) Honey Bee- Blake Shelton
A bit of country is never bad. This is one of my favourite songs of Blake's.

4) Send Me On My Way- Rusted Root
This is one of those great movie songs that everyone knows but no one knows the name.

5) Domino- Jessie J
I know everyone loved this when it came out in like 2011, but I just downloaded it and started loving it all over again.

6) Have a Little Faith- John Haitt
I actually discovered this song when Matt Cermanski auditioned with it on The Voice Season 5. His cover was so amazing, so I downloaded the song. Both the original and Matt do great jobs. I love this song. I have put a link to Matt's cover too.

7) Gone, Gone, Gone- Phillip Phillips
I just love Phil Phillips, and this song is one of my favourites. Its so genuine and always makes me feel happy.

8) Movin' On Up- The Jeffersons Theme Song
I never watched The Jeffersons, so I don't actually know what it's about, but I heard this song and liked it so much I had to download it.

9) Never Grow Up- Taylor Swift
I thought I knew every Taylor song, but this one somehow escaped me from her second album, and it is just so so pretty!

10) I Choose You- Andy Grammer
Oh my gosh- I am just obsessed with this song! I have just discovered Andy Grammer, but this is my favourite!

11) Crazy Beautiful- Andy Grammer
Another one I love...

12) Tokyo- The Wombats
This is such a cool song. I always feel like dancing around and singing when it comes on, and the Wombats are also relatively new I think, so a lot of people don't know about them yet.

13) I'm a Believer- The Monkees
Smash Mouth actually made this popular more recently, but I prefer the 60 original by the Monkees.

14) Happily- One Direction
As the name suggests, just a happy little song.

15) Wagon Wheel- Old Crow Medicine Show
I love this classic sort of folk/country sing-along song, one of my favourites.

16) Everything- Michael Buble
Ah, I have no words, this song is just amazing!

17) What Would You Do- Bastille
This is actually a cover of City High's song, they didn't write it, but I think they do it better than the original! Also, my friend's band do a cover of it that's pretty good, go check it out- they're called 'Hayfever'.

18) Of the Night- Bastille
This is also a remade cover of an 80s song, but again, I prefer it to the original! When I first heard the song, I actually didn't like it, I don't know why, maybe because it's different to Bastille's usual stuff, but now I absolutely love it!

19) Closing Time- Semisonic
There's something about this song that I really like.

20) Alone Together- Fall Out Boy
This is a really great song, I have actually been really enjoying Fall Out Biy's stuff recently.

So those are my top 20 songs on my playlist at the moment!
I hope you enjoy them as much as I am.

The Fault In Our Stars

Recently, I read the most amazing book called 'The Fault in Our Stars' by a really great author called John Green. I was given the book for christmas after saying that I wanted to read it for quite some time. I had heard nothing but good things about the book, and so many people recommended it to me, so I decided that it was time I read it too.

It was just so genuine and heart-warming and also very uncliched which I really liked. The basic idea of the story it about a 16 year old girl called Hazel who has very serious lung Cancer and is battling it and I guess you could say, slowly dying. It is very very sad in that way because it deals with the idea of Cancer which is such a true reality, and so at parts it was incredibly sad. But basically she meets this super charming guy called Gus (who has been in remission for a year or two) who kind of changes everything for her, and the book is a story of her life, their relationship, that type of thing. But it is just written in such a way that is so original. When I started the book I was thinking that it would basically just be a story about Hazel dying, but whether or not she dies (I',m not giving any spoliers), its not about that and in the last 100 pages I was literally left shocked from so many unexpected little twists that make the story.

So please read it! I am a terrible reader, I read so slowly and I don't handle very difficult books well, but this is actually an easy read despite its great plot, and I could never put it down. I made it one of my new year's resolutions to read more, so this was my first book for the year, and I just loved it!
I have also just bought a book by John Green again called Looking for Alaska, because I loved his writing so much and I've heard it's a great book. So if I enjoy it as much as this one, maybe I'll post on that too.

Also, the movie is coming out in June, so that's something to look forward to too.
