Pretty Little Liars Fashion- EMILY

Emily is an interesting character and I wouldn't say she's a tomboy because she is still pretty girly but her style is a lot more simple than the others and her look is very sporty and casual. She tends to avoid loads of accesories and often will just wear shorts and a pretty top, or jeans and lot of layered shirts. I often see her in plaid shirts, sometimes denim skirts and often scarves and converse. She likes to keep things plain and simple, yet still pretty. Her character is played by Shay Mitchell in the show and is very much the "girl-next-door" type and I think sometimes her style is less appreciated in comparison to the very interesting and elaborate ones of her friends, but yeah, check these looks out! She wears a lot of blue, khaki and maroon, but then occasionally will throw in bright pops of colour which tend to suit her dark hair and tanned skin very well.

I really love Emily's burgundy jeans and her faded kind of spotted/splotchy material jacket!
I apologise for the crap quality of these, particularly the one on the right. But I wanted to include it so you could see that she was wearing three-quarter jeans with this. I don't know exactly what it is about this look, but I just really love it!
This is a very sort of casual every day look but I really like these plain black legging with a pop of colour.

This is quite an unusual dress and I just thought that it was really interesting and cool. I like the way it hangs (if that makes sense) and think that the cut out along the neckline is really cool and makes it more than a simple little dress.

I love this look because while its essentially just jeans, a Tshirt and a leather jacket, it is still really different and fashionable. This is very much Emily's style, she wears a lot of jackets and jeans and layers, etc. I think this maroon jacket is so cool!
Big cargo jackets like this are very in at the moment, particularly ones this sort of olive green/browny/khaki colour. I just really love this look. I think the bini looks so cool and is an accessory that a lot of people would struggle to pull off. I just in general really like this.
I love this black T-shirt dress on Emily because it is a perfect example of how less really is more.
This vintage polka dot blue dress is one of my favourites on Emily. It is very different to her usual style but I just love it, I think it is so pretty!
This is such a pretty navy summer dress. I think it really suits Emily's figure and shows off her small waist by tightly pulling in there and then flowing down just above her knees.

Pretty Little Liars Fashion- HANNA

Hanna is a typical girly girl who wears a lot of kind of glam, fitted clothes. I'd say her style is quite bold but simple, so unlike Aria, she will wear one statement accessory or a really bold pattern or something like that. She wears a lot of bright colours, which suits her as she is the only blonde one. Hanna wears a lot of short dresses and pretty chiffon shirts. She also often wears fitted blazers and pants, that I think really suit her.

This is one of my favourite dresses of Hanna's. She manages to pull of such an unusual and bold colour combination and I really like how the edges are rimmed in that black lace.
Even though this is a pretty plain simple look, I really like the colour of this vest and I think that it's a really pretty way to do casual looks.
I loved this blue and purple maxi dress on Hanna. I wouldn't usually like those colours together, but the panelling of them works here, and I think that this length and style suits her a lot.

I wish that this picture was slightly better quality because this is literally like my favourite look of hers. I actually would never be bold enough to wear it, but I love love these patterned pants on her, and then the yellow little T-shirt picks up some of the yellow in the pants, and I just really love it.

I just think this is the cutest little summer dress. I really like the pale yellow (it seems Hanna actually wears a lot of yellow) and I love love the circular lace pattern at the top and around the neckline and then down the back- it's so pretty.

I think this is a really girly, but still simple look. I love how she's paired a simple, quite big shirt over a tight body con black skirt, I think it looks really cool and still comfortable. I also really like her bag.

I think this beige/sandy coloured blazer is so pretty and fitted items like this look so good on her. I also really like the detailing of the lace neckline again.

This is just an outfit I really liked, she's wearing a maroon tight-ish bodycon skirt with a chiffon stipped shirt and a black blazer.

I added these because I think they must be SO hard to pull off, but somehow I love these on her! I think they are paired with perfect items to make the look somehow still look quite simple and pretty even though they are so shiny and bold. Yeah, I just really love this!
This is just so stunning and so flattering on her!

Pretty Little Liars Fashion- ARIA

I wanted to do this series of PLL fashion posts because I am obsessed with the show and I have just recently rewatched a whole bunch of the episodes. I also want to rewatch Season 4 before I start Season 5 which has just started airing in the US.

So, if you don't watch the show, I do recommend you check it out! The 4 main characters are Aria, Emily, Spencer and Hanna, and whilst all have very different styles, the fashion in this show is beautiful!

Aria is my favourite character in the show. She is played by Lucy Hale who is so stunning! Aria's style is very alternative and quite boho, but also classy and interesting. She's very arty and mature and likes to accessorise with cool, quirky jewellery and that sort of thing. I really love her style, and while a lot of it is very different and quite bold, she somehow always pulls it off. She wears a lot of boots with either cool patterned dresses or shorts. She often wears hats, or statement necklaces and/or earrings too.

I really like this look. I especially like the hat and how its casual but still a really pretty outfit.

I really like this quite casual look on Aria. I love her boots, which kind of add something interesting to the look.
This was the dress Aria wore to the homecoming dance in the show, and I couldn't get the best snap of it, but I think it is so different and stunning! I love love its shape and the high neck, tight waist style. I also love the detailing on the shoulders (in the middle picture) and really like the shoes it was paired with too.

This is one of my favourite looks. I am usually not a massive denim skirt fan, but this looks so pretty and I love it paired with the peplum shirt. I also really like the colour combination and the pattern on the T-shirt. Yeah, altogether I just really love this!
I couldn't get a very clear shot of this full look, which is a pity because I think it is amazing! She is wearing high waisted denim shorts with this stripy shirt, boots and a hat. I just think all together, this is a really cool look.
I love this look. This burgundy dress is so pretty and I love it with the big brown belt and matching brown satchel. I also like the long, coin, necklace.
This is one of my favourites! I love this! I think the T-shirt is really cool and kind of edgy almost, but then also super pretty with the lace detailing at the top. I also love the ways you can see the top of her stripy socks above her boots.
This red dress just looks so amazing!
I love this black lace dress on Aria! I especially like the sleeves, and I think the shape is very flattering.

I really like this cute little summer dress and blue cardigan of Aria's. It's got a simple floral pattern and is a classic fit, then she changes it up with a thick belt that really shows off her waist and I also love the little triangle cut-out at the neck.
Oh my gosh, how beautiful is this dress? I just think it is so classic an pretty and I especially love the back, how it half comes over and some is left open.
Oh my gosh, I luuurve this turquoise skater skirt! I couldn't get a better shot of it, but it is just soo cool! I love that she paired them with quite bulky sneakers  and a simple sleved T-shirt!

So those are some of my favourite looks on Aria! Be sure to check out any of my other posts similar to this one for Hanna, Spencer and Emily!

Massive Winter Beauty Haul- Make-up

I seem to have subconsciously picked up a bit of a Rimmel obsession! I didn't even realise it as I bought these, but looking at everything now, most of the make-up I bought is Rimmel. I do think it is a great brand, every product I have used from there has never disappointed so far, so I think I have just grown to trust the brand a lot. So here is the make-up the I picked up.

RIMMEL LONDON- MATCH PERFECTION: LIGHT PERFECTING RADIANCE FOUNDATION (SHADE 200- SOFT BEIGE)
I am not going to go on too long about this foundation because I have fairy recently obsessed over both this, and the Rimmel Pressed Powder in a recent post (I think it was my March favourites), but this foundation is so good. I am always wanting to try new make-up products, so when my second bottle finished, I tried a new one and was so disappointed in comparison, so was very pleased to go back to this! The shade is perfect for me, which is very convenient and is is a good medium coverage and stays on all day! It is also pretty decently priced, which is always a pro.

RIMMEL LONDON- STAY MATTE: LONG-LASTING PRESSED POWDER (SHADE 004- SANDSTORM)
Same story, I couldn't possibly recommend this more, and could spend all day posting about how good it is- good coverage, long-lasting, not too flaky and so on, but long story short, this is an excellent powder, give it a try!

RIMMEL LONDON- LASTING FINISH SOFT COLOUR BLUSH (SHADE 190- CORAL)
I was in real need of a blush... I have never really had more than one or maybe 2 blushes at a time, and tend to just use the same one until it runs out and then switch to another. Buut, I recently just got a bit sick of the one I was using, because it is like a baby pink, which is fine and all, but I just decided I wanted to try a more corally colour, so I thought I'd give this a try.

MAYBELLINE: THE FALSIES- VOLUME EXPRESS MASCARA
This is by far the best mascara that I have used, and I keep trying to get away from it and try something new, but it's so good that I know that it won't disappoint me. This is just the plain original mascara of their The Falsies line, and it's my fav of the range too.

RIMMEL LONDON- STAY MATTE: DUAL ACTION CONCEALER (SHADE 040- SOFT BEIGE)
Before this I was using a Clinique concealer, which I did enjoy, but it was a more liquidy one, I don't know if that makes sense, but it wasn't like this one, because this is essentially what I would call a blemish stick or a concealer crayon, whereas my old one was like in a little tube. This concealer is medium coverage, which I think is perfect over a coat of foundation and so on... it also works very nicely with the Rimmel foundation and powder I showed you earlier :)

REVLON: PHOTOREADY- TRANSLUCENT ILLUMINATOR
I have been eyeing this for a long time now, but it is pretty expensive for a highlighter and so have never taken the plunge until now, but I'm so glad I did, because it is so good. It looks so nice on top of your blush/bronzer/powder as a last little finish and I just use it to highlight the top of my cheekbones, under my eyes and along my jaw bone. It is practically white (the photo makes it looks a lot more flesh coloured than it actually is). It is super good for contouring, especially if you use it together with a bronzer. The brush they give you isn'y my favourite, but otherwise I'm very happy with this.

ESSENCE- EYEBROW DESIGNER PENCIL (SHADE 04- BLONDE)
I usually try to avoid this brand because their make-up is very cheap, which worries me a little in terms of quality, but, I feel like for an eyebrow pencil, there's not much that can go wrong, plus after looking for the right colour for like 20 mins, I found this which is perfect, so I thought I might as well give it I try. I've only used it once, because I bought it yesterday, but so far so good!

RIMMEL LONDON- EXAGGERATE WATERPROOF EYE DEFINER (SHADE 261- NOIR)
When my Yardley London eye liner, pretty much exactly like this one, ran out, I very almost just bought the same one again, and then thought that maybe I'd give another eye pencil a try. This is very similar, but I do prefer it because it is slightly more waterproof but is still very smudgy, which is what I wanted, and also had a smudger on the back, which is always very handy!

So there you have it! Hope you enjoy some of these as much as I am! The last thing I want to pick up that I haven't yet is a good bronzer! Do any of you know a good one that I could give a try?

Massive Winter Beauty Haul - Beauty and Skin Care

Yayy, I have done some shopping!

I kind of went a liiitle overboard- but in my defence, these were not all bought in one day. I was in great need of a lot of beauty and make-up items and so over the past 2 weeks or so, I seem to have accumulated a pretty big stash! Seeing that I have had quite a few of these for a couple of weeks now, I have tried most of them, so I will give you a little run-down on how I'm finding them and so on... :)

So here it goes!

I am splitting this haul into 2 posts, one for beauty and skin care products, and the other for make-up, because I don't want one extremely long post, I would rather have two shorter ones.

BEAUTY:

THE BODY SHOP- HONEYMANIA BODY BUTTER
If you read my blog regularly, you'll know how much I LOVE this scent from the Body Shop! It is quite new, and is my ultimate favourite! I had recently finished my shower gel and exfoliator that I got for Christmas in this same Honeymania range, and so I knew it was about time I went back for more! I have been absolutely loving this! It is just a run-of-the-mill Body Shop body butter, but the smell is just so so amazing!! Definitely worth a sniff next time you're there!

TRES EMME- INSTANT REFRESH: RADIANCE DRY SHAMPOO
I am a big dry shampoo fan- particularly because I straighten my hair a lot! This one is my favourite of all brands because it is the only one, I've found, that actually stops my hair from feeling and looking greasy- which is essentially what you want from a dry shampoo, right!? It smells like apples and with a quick comb through after, it doesn't leave behind any white specs or anything! I'm onto my fourth or fifth can of this since I started using it last year sometime, and I've stuck with it because it really is the best one I've found.

NIVEA: DAILY ESSENTIALS- REFRESHING TONER (NORMAL & COMBINATION SKIN)
I have been so impressed in general with the Nivea Daily Essentials range! Nivea isn't specifically renowned for amazing skin products.... what I mean by that is that when someone talks about amazing face washes/exfoliators/toners/make-up removers/moisturisers, and so on, Nivea isn't a brand that comes up often. But currently, I would highly recommend this Nivea range to anyone looking for quality skin care products that are affordable. I love this toner- it's light and gentle on my skin, and always leaves my skin feeling refreshed! I have used one bottle of the same type before this, but by mistake bought the toner for dry skin, and when I went back to buy more, I saw that this (normal/combination) one is the one I should be using. I really like this, so definitely give it a try if you're looking for a new, fairly cheap toner!

CLICKS: SKIN ESSENTIALS- 3-IN-1 FACIAL WIPES
(Sorry my picture is a bit blurry)
These are nothing too special, but I just feel like everyone needs these in their bathroom to wipe off  a night of make-up quickly... I often use these if I'm having a super lazy night and can't be bothered to do anymore than just wipe off my make-up with one of these and then use a moisturiser. They have a toner, cleanser and make-up remover all in one, and so they do a good job at just clearing my face quickly. Clicks is a South African drug store type shop, so I don't think you could get these anywhere else but here, but like I said, they are nothing too amazing, just a staple I think everyone should have :)

DERMALOGICA- CLEAR START BREAKOUT CLEARING: DAYTIME TREATMENT
For such a long name, this is essentially just a good moisturiser. I don't know if Dermalogica is an available or well-known brand overseas, so depending, you may not be able to get your hands on this brand, but I do know that it is Australian (I think). I wasn't enjoying my Yardley London moisturiser that I had, and so made a transition to this, and in fact, have pretty much decided to use this brand for all my face products because it is so good. I think what I like the most is that all the products are very gentle on one's skin- and my skin needs products like that because it tends to get irritated by products quite easily and is very sensitive. There is also SPF in this, and it always leaves me feeling fresh-faced. It is a bit on the pricey side (my mom bought it for me :P ) but worth it if you can!

I also bought the 'Dermalogica Clear Start Cleaning Face Wash' (which is also very good) but didn't take a picture because it I have been using it for a while now and it was wet in my shower and a bit empty and so on....

My mom also bought me little sample sachets of other Dermalogica skin products that I have been using (sparingly, but still).

DERMALOGICA- CLEAR START BREAKOUT CLEARING: PORE CONTROL SCRUB
(the green sachets)
This is their exfoliator in the range, and I have really liked it. Obviously these are small little samples, so could only get about 4 uses from the sachets I have, but I did enjoy it, and might well go back (when I make some moola) and buy a proper sized tube of it.

DERMALOGICA- CLEAR START BREAKOUT CLEARING: EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT
(the red sachets)
I highly highly recommend this to any one whose skin can occasionally just stop co-operating completely. I, generally speaking, have never had really really problematic skin, but of course, like all of us, my skin has its good and bad days. About 2 weeks ago, my skin seemed to have a bit of a meltdown and I was doing everything I could to kind of just treat it kindly and get it back to normal. So I got some of these sachets of this spot-fix serum type stuff. It is SO good! It is alcohol based, so really kills any bacteria you may have around little blemishes and within about 4 days of using it, my skin was pretty much completely clear. I definitely want to go buy the large version of this!

TIP TOP NAIL VARNISH- SHADE 974: "IN THE NAVY"
Tip Top is a South African brand of nail polish, and it is one of the two brands I actually like buying. I really hate using polishes that chip within a few days, or require loads of layers just to get the colour properly but Tip Top is super good, in that 2 layers will do, and generally I can go a week or so until I need to redo it or take it off. It is winter here and so I have been wanting a dark colour, and decided I wanted a navy blue colour. I found this one and it is exactly what I wanted. It is pretty dark, but you can see it is blue not black, and it is just very nice, I have been liking it a lot.

ESSIE NAIL POLISH: SHADE 10- BLANC
ESSIE NAIL POLISH: SHADE 686- CUTE AS A BUTTON
I ordered these two online, and am so happy I did, because I am such an Essie fan! Let me start with Cute as a Button- the pinky-corally one: I ordered this wanting a coral colour and so was quite disappointed when I saw it, because it is a lot more pink than the sample shade looked (never trust the Essie thumbnail samples- I say this with experience haha). Buut it has since grown on me a bit- when you paint it, is does look a bit more coral than it does in the bottle, and I've decided that it will look really nice on my toes in summer, not too sure about my hands yet, but we'll see.

The second one, Blanc, is one that I am loving!! I have wanted to try white polish for a long time because I have seen a lot of girls do it recently, and I really like the way it looks, not to mention that it goes with everything you wear :) Blanc was one of their very very first colours they ever made and even thought they have since made quite a few other whites, I wanted this one because it is the original one and is very crisp and clear, and doesn't have shades of anything else in it!

Both of these don't chip for at least a week, usually more, and I only need 2 layers to have the colour perfectly pigmented. Also, they don't come out streaky and yeah, they are really good quality.

LUSH- MELTING MARSHMALLOW BATH MELT
I have used this one once before, and so thought it was about time I tried it again because it just smells too delicious. Its a Lush classic I'd say, because it's always there, and not part of any special range or anything, but sometimes simple is best. As you could guess, it smells like marshmallow, but not so hectically that it is overwhelmingly sweet. Being a bath melt, you just pop the whole thing is your bath and it melts into the water, with all its delicious smelling goodness and I promise you, my skin felt so soft afterwards! I love this one, and I think sometimes a bath melt is best if you just want something plain and simple that smells delicious and is good for your skin too.

LUSH- SAKURA BATH BALLISTIC
This is one of the new products for the Spring/Summer range (at least it's new here in SA, it may not be elsewhere). It smells like cherry blossom, which is a scent of theirs I hadn't smelt before. I've not yet used it, but from the look of the colours and the popping candy stuff on the outside, it looks pretty exciting!

MARC JACOBS PERFUME- DAISY (EAU SO FRESH)
I have been wanting this Marc Jacobs fragrance for a long time now, but it is so bloody expensive that I haven't been able to. So of course, it was the first thing I asked for when my mom asked me what I'd like from her trip to Ireland. I am so happy with this! I love the scent, is is floral (say what, a perfume called Daisy smells floral haha) and quite sweet, but not so much so that is smells childish or anything, so yeah, I'm super happy with the scent. So far, it also doesn't give me allergies, which is my main priority when buying perfumes because my nose is very sensitive to smells and fragrances and stuff. I also love the bottle, and there is a lot of perfume in there, so I think it will last a long time!

So that's it for beauty and skin care stuff, if you want, go check out the second part of this haul which is some of the make-up I picked up :)
