November Favourites

Hi everyone :D

Time for another favourites! Christmas is well on its way now and so before I launch into full Christmas mode on my blog, I really wanted to do a November favourites first because I haven't done one in a while and there have been a few products I have been really thoroughly enjoying over the last month or so.

So starting with
MAKE-UP AND BEAUTY
REVLON AGE DEFYING TARGETED DARK SPOT CONCEALER TREATMENT
in the shade 02
For a while now, I've been struggling to find a good concealer. In fact, before this one, I have never found one that I like enough to buy another tube of! I personally, am not a fan of  the blemish crayons and prefer a concealer with a slightly more liquidy consistency. But I have finally found a pretty great one! Not only does this have great coverage and lasts pretty long, it also is the perfect colour for my skin tone, which is something I often have struggled to find in concealers. I can't remember what it cost, but it was fairy inexpensive and so I rate definitely give this a go if you're on the hunt for a great new concealer.

MAYBELLINE- MASTER DUO GLOSSY LINER
I have been on the hunt for a good liquid liner recently, and I stumbled upon this one, which I have been really enjoying. My main issue with liquid eye-liner is that it can smudge so easily, but this one really doesn't, is very much waterproof and, as liquid eye-liners go, is relatively easy to apply.

THE BODY SHOP: GLAZED APPLE BATH JELLY
Gotta love a new Body Shop product, particularly when it's in their new Christmas scent! This bath jelly makes SO many bubbles and smells so so good! I literally am alternating between this and a Lush christmas bomb every time I have a bath.

RANDOM FAVOURITES
So now onto a few more random things I loved last month.

CANDLES
HOLIDAY TIME GLASS CANDLE
in the scent PINE
So, I've definitely expressed my love of scented candles on this blog before, but recently I have been loving this one, cause it is such an unusual scent. It's very light and subtle but is also chistmassy and slightly sweet. I bought it at this massive department shop called Macro for a crazy cheap amount of money but it has lasted so long, comes in this lovely jar, and is a great dupe for the christmas Yankee candles I have been wanting to try.

FOOD/DRINK
CADBURY SNOWFLAKES
Sorry, I have accidentally turned my favourites post into a christmas one, but over the last month, these have definitely been one of my favourite little treats! Cadbury chocolate is just so delicious, and these little icing sugar covered chocolate balls are just so good!

FASHION/JEWELLERY
LOVISA (SETS OF 4)
My jewellery favourite this month has to be rings! I am not a huge eating or bracelet person, but I really do like rings and recently this South African (I think) shop called Lovisa has recently opened near me and they have the prettiest rings! I bought these four which I have just been loving, so yeah, definitely check out Lovisa if you're from SA.

TV SHOW:
VEEP
So in the last month I have just be obsessed with this show! It is just amazing! I tried it a bit reluctantly because it's based on politics and the (fictional) Vice President of the USA, which I wouldn't have expected to enjoy but the acting is amazing, the storyline is brilliant and it's very funny and still light-hearted and easy to watch! I am just so in love with this show and I'd say it's a humorous mixture of something like Parks and Recreation with Scandal or that sort of thing! Give it a try, I was hooked from the Pilot!

MOVIE:
INTERSTELLAR
I literally don't even know what to write about this movie, it is just absolutely phenomenal, but to the point where I can't even begin to actually describe the plot or the concepts or anything, it kind of just blew my mind! It is so so clever, and is about space travel and galaxies and all that, but whether you think that's your thing, watch this movie nonetheless! It's just a huge movie, with brilliant acting and so much thought, not to mention stunning cinematography! I watched it in the theatres and afterwards I literally didn't even know what to do with myself, it's just so impactful, definitely worth a watch!

Hope you enjoy any of these if you give them a try! Expect some christmassy posts coming your way soon :D

Massive Winter Beauty Haul- Make-up

I seem to have subconsciously picked up a bit of a Rimmel obsession! I didn't even realise it as I bought these, but looking at everything now, most of the make-up I bought is Rimmel. I do think it is a great brand, every product I have used from there has never disappointed so far, so I think I have just grown to trust the brand a lot. So here is the make-up the I picked up.

RIMMEL LONDON- MATCH PERFECTION: LIGHT PERFECTING RADIANCE FOUNDATION (SHADE 200- SOFT BEIGE)
I am not going to go on too long about this foundation because I have fairy recently obsessed over both this, and the Rimmel Pressed Powder in a recent post (I think it was my March favourites), but this foundation is so good. I am always wanting to try new make-up products, so when my second bottle finished, I tried a new one and was so disappointed in comparison, so was very pleased to go back to this! The shade is perfect for me, which is very convenient and is is a good medium coverage and stays on all day! It is also pretty decently priced, which is always a pro.

RIMMEL LONDON- STAY MATTE: LONG-LASTING PRESSED POWDER (SHADE 004- SANDSTORM)
Same story, I couldn't possibly recommend this more, and could spend all day posting about how good it is- good coverage, long-lasting, not too flaky and so on, but long story short, this is an excellent powder, give it a try!

RIMMEL LONDON- LASTING FINISH SOFT COLOUR BLUSH (SHADE 190- CORAL)
I was in real need of a blush... I have never really had more than one or maybe 2 blushes at a time, and tend to just use the same one until it runs out and then switch to another. Buut, I recently just got a bit sick of the one I was using, because it is like a baby pink, which is fine and all, but I just decided I wanted to try a more corally colour, so I thought I'd give this a try.

MAYBELLINE: THE FALSIES- VOLUME EXPRESS MASCARA
This is by far the best mascara that I have used, and I keep trying to get away from it and try something new, but it's so good that I know that it won't disappoint me. This is just the plain original mascara of their The Falsies line, and it's my fav of the range too.

RIMMEL LONDON- STAY MATTE: DUAL ACTION CONCEALER (SHADE 040- SOFT BEIGE)
Before this I was using a Clinique concealer, which I did enjoy, but it was a more liquidy one, I don't know if that makes sense, but it wasn't like this one, because this is essentially what I would call a blemish stick or a concealer crayon, whereas my old one was like in a little tube. This concealer is medium coverage, which I think is perfect over a coat of foundation and so on... it also works very nicely with the Rimmel foundation and powder I showed you earlier :)

REVLON: PHOTOREADY- TRANSLUCENT ILLUMINATOR
I have been eyeing this for a long time now, but it is pretty expensive for a highlighter and so have never taken the plunge until now, but I'm so glad I did, because it is so good. It looks so nice on top of your blush/bronzer/powder as a last little finish and I just use it to highlight the top of my cheekbones, under my eyes and along my jaw bone. It is practically white (the photo makes it looks a lot more flesh coloured than it actually is). It is super good for contouring, especially if you use it together with a bronzer. The brush they give you isn'y my favourite, but otherwise I'm very happy with this.

ESSENCE- EYEBROW DESIGNER PENCIL (SHADE 04- BLONDE)
I usually try to avoid this brand because their make-up is very cheap, which worries me a little in terms of quality, but, I feel like for an eyebrow pencil, there's not much that can go wrong, plus after looking for the right colour for like 20 mins, I found this which is perfect, so I thought I might as well give it I try. I've only used it once, because I bought it yesterday, but so far so good!

RIMMEL LONDON- EXAGGERATE WATERPROOF EYE DEFINER (SHADE 261- NOIR)
When my Yardley London eye liner, pretty much exactly like this one, ran out, I very almost just bought the same one again, and then thought that maybe I'd give another eye pencil a try. This is very similar, but I do prefer it because it is slightly more waterproof but is still very smudgy, which is what I wanted, and also had a smudger on the back, which is always very handy!

So there you have it! Hope you enjoy some of these as much as I am! The last thing I want to pick up that I haven't yet is a good bronzer! Do any of you know a good one that I could give a try?

FAVOURITES FROM FEBRUARY

Some of the beauty products that I have really been enjoying over the past month or so. I have tried to use international brands so it is applicable to everyone!

CLINIQUE LINE SMOOTHING CONCEALER

I love this concealer and on days when I am feeling lazy or my skin is looking good, I use this only, no base or tinted moisturiser with it. It is fairly pricey but gives a great coverage and is perfect to cover up little blemishes that appear suddenly. My shade is medium 0,4 which may actually be a little dark for me, but I usually add a little bit of my moisturiser to it to lighten it.

BODY SHOP BRONZER STICK

I tend to use this as a bronzer because it gives the same effect and is very easy to apply. It is particularly useful if you have oily skin or even an oil based moisturiser. Sometimes your skin can feel wet after applying moisturser and then base and blush, and this highlighs your check bones but also dries those oily areas. It is a great buy plus it lasts for ages.

BRITTANY SPEARS- FANTASY PERFUME
There are other scents but I only like this pink one. It reminds me of good times and I have been wearing it for a while but just got a new bottle... It is fairly sweet but not too much so that it becomes unwearable and the smell softens over time. I love it and pretty much wear it everyday- it is quite similar to J Biebs new perfume as well. I read a few reviews to find out what smell it is exactly and this is what it said (the site was: http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Britney-Spears/Fantasy-600.html ) "It opens with fruity mix of litchi, golden quince and kiwi. The provocative heart is composed of jasmine and white chocolate. The base combines orris root, musk and woods." That all sounds delicious, but don't get me wrong, whilst it may sound complicated, it is not at all and is really great, I think it is best suited for young ish people.

ENVIRON PRE CLEANSER
I actually use this as a make up remover, especially for my eyes when I wear heavy mascara, eyeliner, etc. I only just got it and so far it works like a charm. Whats so nice is that it removes your make up and pre cleanses your face simultaneously. It is quite oily, but sothat it can break down clumps of make up quickly and effectivly and it leaves my skin super soft and smooth.

SUNNYSIDE FROM LUSH
So if you do not already know Lush (I dont know where it is, I know for sure here, England and New Zealand but not sure about America?) but it is incredible. I could spend thousands there and would buy everything if I could. Its basic idea is very creative, different homemade beauty products usually in a solid form. So they have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash and bubble baths all in a solid form and then you break bits off and throw them in the bath (in the case of this one, a bubble bath) and bubbles form. It is so cool and much more convenient to move around, unlike leaking liquids. This one is my favourite in the bubble bath range as it is not too sweet nor too plain. It is quite floral almost but it really has the most incredible smell and produces a full bath of bubbles with just a small bit.
